Keeping more than 1 arowana a problem?

Keeping one arowana should not be an issue among enthusiasts but what about keeping more than 1 in a single aquarium? Let's do a bit of research before we try it out shall we as it could save lives! We've asked several fish shops in Malaysia and found that its a BIG NO NO for having 2 or more arowanas confined together.

The reason behind this is the natural behaviour of these carnivores, they are very territorial and so having 2 -4 will make them beat the living of each other. We sure dont want that happening to our investments do we? Arowanas tend to merge in groups of five to eight so its pretty safe to have them more than 5 if you plan to squeeze them.

Nevertheless the best solution to this idea is to:
1. Use plastic separator between one another.
3. Put 5 or more arowanas together instead of 2-4.

Remember that having a larger aquarium for 2-4 arowanas will still be risky so we still suggest you use the separators. Last but not lease, this special message is brought to you by the lovely supporters of Malaysian Arowana! Take care.
